Closed for 2017 season – The Water Table’s vessel, The Revolution, was hit by a tug boat on March 31 and the resulting damage is beyond repair. Will plan to reopen for 2018.
The Water Table is a New England inspired tavern on a historic WWII navy boat, for a unique dinner cruise around the New York Harbor. This is not the typical cheesy, tourist-trap dinner cruise you see leaving from Chelsea Piers. The Water Table likes feels like you’re having a casual and cozy dinner at a (very rich) friend’s boat. The whole experience is laid back and friendly, while still being intimate.
The Water Table seats up to 35 guests per night, and offers a three-course dinner which includes a two-hour cruise with spectacular view of New York City. The route takes you south from Greenpoint (where the boat is docked) to the Statue of Liberty and back. You will cruise by the Domino Sugar Factory, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, under the Manhattan, Williamsburg and Brooklyn Bridges, Tower One, and the highlight will be getting up close and personal with Lady Liberty herself.
The menu is a fixed-priced New England fare with a selection of craft beer, $13 in-house and classic cocktails, and decently priced wine. Three-course dinners are priced $85 from Thursday to Saturday (boarding at 7:20pm, departing promptly at 7:30pm), and they offer a Sunday Supper deal for $55 (boarding at 5:50pm, departing at 6:00pm). Their menu includes a seafood-based dish (often a Lobster roll of course), a meat-based dish and a vegetarian option. Don’t expect much of the food, the real point here is the experience and the boat ride itself.
Vegetarian and gluten-free options available
Reservations are not too hard to come by and are accepted up to 30 days in advance for parties of up to 6 guests. Be advised, they have a pretty strict cancellation policy. Credit cards are required to hold your reservation, and cancellations less than 72 hours in advance will be charged for the full menu price per person. This policy also applies if you need to reduce the number of guests in your party.
Come for their $55 Sunday Supper cruise
The Water Table is also a great option for a unique private event. The boat can be privatized for parties up to 40 people. To book an event or for reservations for parties larger than 6, send your inquiry at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Water Table feels like being at a quaint Brooklyn restaurant, but on water with amazing views of the city. Great for a unique event between friends, or a special celebration date night in a laid back atmosphere.
