Arbor is the newest Montauk hotspot, opened early summer 2016 by the team behind Shelter Island’s Sunset Beach and the newly renovated Duryea’s. Yet another oh-so-trendy restaurant in Montauk… But nevertheless an elegant welcome addition to the Hamptons food scene.
Arbor is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant located around the corner from The Surf Lodge, in a space that was once the home of Ciao by the Beach. The beautiful interior and exterior renovation does not go without notice. The most apparent detail about the new venue is its tasteful, stylish decor and inviting atmosphere. The open interior dining room has a “beachy” but classy modern design, with clean wooden communal tables and the coolest ceiling-light fixtures. The best seating at Arbor, though, is in their private hidden garden.
Closed Mon-Tues
The menu features local seafood and produce for lunch, brunch and dinner, including a raw bar, small plates, pizzas and more elaborate (and pricey!) entrées.
The food is more than decent (better than Duryea’s!), but Arbor is more of a place for true winos. The extensive wine list from their in-house cellar features bottles (and by-the-glass) from around the world in all price ranges (and great rosé of course).
Great Brunch & Rosé $28.95 prix-fixe deal on weekends
A meal at Arbor is a hit-or-miss. Although all beautifully plated, some dishes are light and deliciously prepared while others are bland or overcooked. The wait staff is friendly and elegantly dressed with summer whites and denim aprons, but the service is inconsistent… Arbor has a lot of potential but still needs to live up to the picky Montauk diners (like moi 😛 ).
Accommodate private events in their tasting room for up 18 guests
Come to Arbor for its fun, casual-chic vibe. Best for wine & nibbles, their “brunch & rosé” deal, and easy reservations (for now!).
